Augustine Agyei-Mensah, known to his colleagues as Gus, was learning disabilities nurse at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. He passed away after testing positive for COVID-19.
The father of four, who was originally from Ghana and very proud of his heritage, had been working with the trust since 2014. He worked closely with the NHFT’s speech and language therapists and psychologists, supporting people with complex cognitive and sensory needs.
The NHFT was quoted as saying, “Augustine always recognised that as a clinician he had an opportunity to support service users in making positive changes”. Angela Hillery,
the chief executive of the trust, added that “lives have been transformed because of him.”
Our thoughts are with his family.
We will remember Augustine Agyei-Mensah.
