Portrait of Anujkumar Kuttikkottu Pavithran

Anujkumar Kuttikkottu Pavithran

Anujkumar Kuttikkottu Pavithran, known as Kumar to his colleagues, was a staff nurse at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. He passed away on Monday 27 April 2020 after testing positive for COVID-19.

A well-liked, professional and respected member of the team, Anujkumar started out as a healthcare support worker but dreamt of becoming a nurse so that he could do even more for the NHS. This dream was finally realised in September 2019 when he qualified.

During the pandemic, he was said to have worked ‘day and night’ to look after his patients. United Lincolnshire NHS Health Trust, who run the hospital he worked at, called him a valuable member of the team who was passionate about his job and took great pride in taking care of his family. They added, “the love he put into this world was truly remarkable’.

A fundraiser set up in his name is has raised it's target to help support his wife as she completes her nursing training in the UK – helping Anujkumar’s memory live on through all the future patients she will treat in the future.

He is survived by his wife and two children. Our thoughts are with his family.

We will remember Anujkumar Kuttikkottu Pavithran.
