Victor Dinoo was a father-of-three and a 'highly-valued and respected' senior nurse from the Clinical Site Team for Solihull, Heartlands & Good Hope Hospitals. Said to ‘always make people laugh', even during the hardest of shifts’ and leave 'lasting impressions' he died on Sunday 24 May 2020 of COVID-19.
Margaret Garbett, Director of Nursing for University Hospitals Birmingham said: “Sadly we learned that one of our much-loved colleague, Victor Dinoo passed away in Leicester on Sunday, 24 May. Victor was a highly valued and respected senior nurse from the Clinical Site Team for Solihull, Heartlands and Good Hope hospitals and will be greatly missed.
The Trust is in touch with his family and offering support to them during this difficult time."
Colleague Laura Wilkinson, who created a fundraising page for Victor Dinoo, wrote: "It is with great sadness that the NHS lost a true hero on Sunday, May 24, 2020.
"Victor was a senior charge nurse for University Hospitals Birmingham. Whilst working in the trust for many years Victor's latest position was being a night clinical site practitioner.
"Victor was known by all as a fantastic leader, kind, generous, with an amazing sense of humour, a contagious laugh. Most importantly he was the epitome of a nurse.
"Sadly, Victor became unwell due to COVID-19. Victor has left behind a loving wife and his three children who he doted on immensely.
"This page has been set up to raise some funds, for the family to create more memories so Victor will always live on.
"Victor we love you and will always miss you."
